Little Rock asks residents and businesses to register cameras to aid in criminal investigations

The City of Little Rock is asking residents and businesses to register their cameras or integrate them with the Little Rock Police Department's Real-Time Crime Center to help with criminal investigations.

Those seeking to participate in the public safety initiative, known as Eyes on the Rock, can register their address as a location with a camera via the Eyes on the Rock website.

Around 3,200 cameras were associated with the initiative as of Monday, Mayor Frank Scott Jr. said.

According to the Eyes on the Rock website, police investigators may email a resident or business if video evidence of a situation that happened close to that location is needed. Registering does not allow the police department to listen to or view a camera's feed without permission.
